Chassis no. 3M29R7R152619
Chassis no. 3M29R7R152619
• Built by the late and famous Gene Winfield
• Designed by the film's art department and hand-built by Gene Winfield, legendary Hollywood car customizer
• Based on a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme chassis, extensively re-bodied in fiberglass.
• Features exaggerated styling: triple rear exhausts, squared wheel arches, and futuristic fascia created to parody 1980s automotive excess
• Purchased directly from Gene Winfield by Movie Cars Central
• Previously exhibited in the Petersen Automotive Museum
Created by master customizer Gene Winfield for Paul Verhoeven's RoboCop (1987), the SUX 6000 was designed as a satirical symbol of Detroit's consumer culture in the film's dystopian future. Based on a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme chassis, the car was re-imagined in fiberglass with enlarged body panels, widened track, and triple-barrel rear exhausts to give it an overblown, "hyper-luxury" appearance. Several units were built for production, and this example - chassis no. 3M29R7R152619 - is a verified screen-used vehicle, directly acquired from Winfield himself. Long celebrated as one of the few surviving original RoboCop cars, it represents the intersection of Hollywood design satire and classic American craftsmanship.
Previously exhibited at the Petersen Automotive Museum, this SUX 6000 is now offered on a bill of sale, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gene Winfield. The vehicle will require recommissioning prior to use.
