1975 Ossa 350cc MAR Trials Motorcycle

1975 Ossa 350cc MAR Trials Motorcycle
Registration no. KKL 262N
Frame no. B-242242
Engine no. M-242242

Founded in 1951, the Spanish firm of Ossa first achieved worldwide recognition when works rider Santiago Herrero came close to winning the 250cc World Championship in 1969. Nevertheless, the off-road market was by far the more important for Ossa, as it was for local rivals Bultaco and Montesa. In a bid to emulate their competition successes, Ossa hired English trials star Mick Andrews in 1967. Then only 23 years old but already a proven winner, Andrews set about developing Ossa's existing trail bike into a competitive trials mount, a process that culminated in the MAR - Mick Andrews Replica - that carried its creator to consecutive European Trials Championships in 1971 and '72. The MAR put Ossa on the trials map with a vengeance and proved so successful that it remained in production until the late 1970s.

This Ossa MAR has been ridden regularly on the private vendor's estate and was last started last summer. The machine is offered with V5C Registration Certificate stating: 'Was registered and/or used. Declared manufactured 1975.' It was first registered in the UK on 1st March 2019; earlier history is unknown.

Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning and/or restoration to a greater or lesser extent before returning to the road and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's completeness, history, authenticity, originality and mechanical condition prior to bidding.
