2002 Suzuki GSX-R 600
Registration no. X896 USH
Frame no. JS1BG111100101390
Engine no. N723-155804

This Suzuki GSX-R 6000 is believed to be the TAS Suzuki entered and ridden to victory by Ian Lougher at the 2002 Isle of Man TT in the Production 600 class (see email printout from TAS Racing on file). Winning the race Ian set a new lap record of 120.25mph beating Bruce Anstey by 28 seconds. Now retired, Ian Lougher is one of the most successful road-racers of modern times; his 2002 TT win aboard the Suzuki is one of ten.

The Suzuki was purchased by the current vendor in June 2024 for restoration. The vendor's aim was to return the Suzuki as close as possible to its 2002 TT-winning specification, including a black number board where the registration plate is mounted, and an original black plastic rear mudguard and chain guard. During restoration a number of differences from standard production specification were found:

Wilbers/Progressive Suspension shock absorber
Promach Rearsets
Power Commander
Race generator
Harris fairing bracket
Yoshimura gear shaft support
Talon sprockets
Race exhaust with all joints welded
Lock-wired throttle body operating arms
Radiator stone guard
Fan relocated to right side of radiator

Other notable features include a rear wheel marked 'Lougher' and a front wheel marked 'Jefferies' (David Jefferies). These original wheels and front forks stamped 'IL600P' are included in the sale.

Used over the past few years by the vendor on classic track days, the Suzuki will require servicing before further use. Accompanying paperwork consists of a V5C document and the aforementioned email printout.
