• Rare foreign-market Café racer-style model
• Used regularly in current ownership
• Recently MoT'd

The Honda GB500TT is a model which was primarily sold in the Japanese and US markets. It was based on the XBR500 model, which on one hand is a traditional British-style 500cc single-cylinder machine, but also incorporated many up-to-date technical features such as the four-valve cylinder head, overhead camshaft, five-speed gearbox, CD ignition, and a halogen headlamp. The GB500TT was an early example of retro-styling, appealing to the older motorcyclist who liked the style of older machines of their youth, but wanted a simpler life without the oil leaks, kick-starting, and unreliability issues. The model filled this gap, with its electric start, modern performance, and café racer styling into the bargain; traditionalists can still use the kickstart for starting, should they wish to. Sold mainly in Japan (where a 400cc version was also available) and USA, strangely they were never officially imported to the UK.

Displaying c.19,520 miles, J238 EWW was purchased by the present private vendor in 2017, since when it has been used regularly, for limited mileage, and has recently passed its MoT, which expires 25th February 2027. The Honda is now being sold only because the owner is giving up motorcycling. It is ready to be used by a new owner.

Documentation comprises a current V5C, the current MoT certificate, some expired MoT certificates, the original bill of sale, and a part-copy workshop manual, with the rest on a memory stick.
