THE DRAGSTER OFFERED

Offered here is a purpose-built dragster manufactured as a nostalgic tribute to the dragsters of the 1960s/1970s. Completed in 2012 by Vanderbeck Race Cars of Salem, Oregon, this dragster is a great way to get into the single digit quarter mile runs with ease. The chassis is NHRA certified for up to a 6 second quarter mile, giving this racecar a lot of potential. With an extremely lightweight, no-frills approach on this custom machine, this is surely one exhilarating machine to pilot down the strip. This dragster can be suited for both quarter mile and eighth mile configurations.

Powered by a balanced and blueprinted big block 454ci Chevrolet V8 engine, equipped with a high CFM 4-barrel carburetor from Holley along with large diameter open exhaust manifolds, this engine is generated for maximum naturally aspirated horsepower output. Even more potential can be had with the added use of nitrous oxide and/or forced induction. Power is transferred to the ground via a 2-speed Powerglide transmission with a trans brake connected to oversized Phoenix drag slicks. The cockpit is minimalist to save weight and only gives the driver the most important diagnostics. Autometer gauges display vitals, the parachute is activated within a small arms reach. Surely an excellent opportunity to begin living your life a quarter mile at a time.
