The steady march of Volkswagen Beetle evolution continued as the 1960s progressed, with the cars receiving a raft of technical innovations to ready them for the coming decade. In 1968 the Beetle transitioned to fully independent suspension, and by 1969 the 1300 Beetle used modern 12-volt electrics and benefited from a dual-circuit braking system. The Beetles of the late sixties are arguably some the most desirable today, with the technical updates making them safer and more usable, while still retaining the classic steel dashboard and thin-rimmed Bakelite steering wheel.
This 1969 Beetle 1300 was delivered new in Germany in Savannah Beige and red fabric interior. It would require recommissioning prior to use as it was on static display for a long term. This car can be an interesting "patina" project showing some defaults caused by the years. It comes with a photocopy of its Kraftfahrzeugbrief (German registration document).
