1981 Hercules 49cc K50 Ultra LC
Registration no. PRY 894W
Frame no. 685235290
Engine no. 8830456

The German firm of Hercules started out in Nürnberg in the 1880s as a bicycle manufacturer before introducing its first powered two-wheeler in 1904, and went on to use proprietary engines from a wide range of European and British suppliers throughout the pre-war years. After WW2 Hercules built two-stroke models almost exclusively - mopeds and ultra-lightweights mostly - many of which were powered by Austrian Sachs engines as seen here. Today the firm is best remembered for making the world's first commercially built Wankel rotary-engined motorcycle

A model seldom seen in the UK, this Hercules K50 sports moped was taken in part exchange by our vendor's late father some years ago and has belonged to the vendor since 21st March 2021. The machine was first registered in the UK on 1st April 1981.We are advised the Hercules has never been repainted, though it is believed the vendor's father is likely to have serviced and recommissioned it circa 2007. The current odometer reading is 4,905 miles and the machine is presented in age-related condition. On file is a photocopy of an old V5C identifying two of the previous keepers, while the current V5C states that there have been five in total, one being the vendor's father. Following a period of inactivity, the machine will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and is therefore sold strictly as viewed.
