The MSDS - Macchina Sport Derivato della Serie - was a production racer designed for Italy's great city-to-city road races, many of which were limited to 175cc machines. Often likened to the two-wheeled Mille Miglia, these events showcased the very best lightweight sporting motorcycles of the era.

Detailing on the MSDS reflects both refinement and purpose. The clip-on handlebars feature a single-bolt attachment and integrated levers for choke and spark advance. Shouldered aluminium rims were typical of the period, while the Parrilla logo appears stamped into the steering damper adjustment wheel. This machine also carries the rare D-shaped rev counter mounted across the top yoke, paired with a small speedometer set neatly into the headlamp shell.

A true 'time warp' survivor, this MSDS retains its originality and patina, it was apparently dispatched to Triumph Ace Cycle and is eligible for the premier 175cc class in popular Moto Giro re-enactments worldwide. The condition of this machine was recognised when it won first place in the Moto Giro class up to 250cc at the 2008 Moto Concorso in Monterey, part of a week-long celebration that included a Moto Giro through Northern California.

Robert purchased the Parilla at Bonhams' Las Vegas Sale in January 2011. Showing approximately 1,582 miles on the odometer, it is offered with its original U.S. number plate, a VMCC Certificate confirming year of manufacture, V5C, and a quantity of import paperwork.

Prospective buyers should please note that whilst Robert actively started and maintained his collection, all machines are offered as requiring recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent.
