Property of a deceased's estate
1947 Velocette 349cc KSS Mark II Project
Registration no. GNX 56
Frame no. indecipherable (see text – 8378 to logbook and V5)
Engine no. KSS 10555 (see text)

By the late 1920s, Veloce's K-Series roadsters offered a variety of models, including Normal, Sports, Super Sports, Touring, Economy, and twin-port versions. Launched in 1925, the KSS was the Super Sports variant, while the KTS tourer featured the same overhead camshaft engine and similar cycle parts, with differences mainly in mudguard design and wheel sizes. The 1936 MkII KSS/KTS brought significant updates, including a new aluminium-alloy cylinder head with enclosed valve gear, as well as the cradle frame and heavyweight Webb forks from the new MSS tourer. Following World War II, production of the KSS resumed in November 1946, before being further updated in August 1947 with optional Dowty Oleomatic telescopic front forks.

This KSS has been unused since at least 1999 when the vendors' father passed away, whom purchased the Velo in March 1972 for £45. The machine's mechanical condition and completeness (or otherwise) is not known and thus it is sold strictly as viewed. It should be noted that the cam box cover is missing (a spare rocker box and detached rocker covers accompany the machine). It should also be noted that the engine number differs from that recorded on the accompanying old V5 and 1953 RF.60, indicating that the engine has been changed at some time. Furthermore, the frame number is indecipherable, meaning that it cannot be determined whether or not it matches that recorded in the logbook and V5. Prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to the frame's originality or not prior to bidding. The machine also comes with a KSS and KTS instruction book.
