By the 1960s' commencement, Mercedes-Benz's ever-expanding model range was lacking in only one department: a super prestige saloon to rival the Grosser Mercedes of the past. This gap was filled in September 1963 with the appearance at the Frankfurt International Motor Show of the all-new 600, which represented state-of-the-art automotive engineering in just about every department and was supremely well equipped.

This rare example of Mercedes-Benz's luxury flagship was delivered new in Dortmund, Germany where it has spent its entire life. The car was first registered on 1st July 1967 and has been in the same family's possession since 26th March 1999 when it was bought our vendor's father. One of the jewels of the family's collection, the car is offered with its Datenkarte, German Fahrzeugbrief and an extensive history file.
Whether driven by the fortunate next owner or his/her chauffeur, this high-performance limousine affords the prospect of an intoxicating motoring experience rivalling that offered by many of today's most expensive luxury cars.

Au début des années 1960, il manquait dans la gamme en constante progression de Mercedes-Benz un seul modèle, une berline de grand prestige pour rivaliser avec la Grosser Mercedes d'autrefois. Ce maillon manquant arriva en septembre 1963 avec l'apparition de la toute nouvelle 600 au salon international de Francfort, qui représentait le nec plus ultra de l'ingénierie automobile dans tous les domaines avec un équipement pléthorique.
Ce rare exemplaire du vaisseau amiral de Mercedes-Benz a été livré neuf à Dortmund, en Allemagne, où il passé toute sa vie. La voiture a été immatriculée le 1er juillet 1967 et est restée dans la même famille depuis le 26 mars 1999 lorsqu'elle a été achetée par le père du vendeur. La voiture, un des joyaux de la collection familiale, est vendue avec sa Datenkarte, son Fahrzeugbrief allemand et un dossier historique complet.
Qu'elle soit conduite par un chauffeur ou par son futur et chanceux propriétaire, cette limousine à hautes performances propose la perspective d'une expérience enthousiasmante, équivalente à celle que peuvent offrir les plus coûteuse des voitures de luxe actuelles.
