Renowned for its styling work for motor manufacturers the world over, Carrozzeria Ghia has occasionally built complete cars under its own brand name, the most celebrated being the 450 SS of 1966. The Dual-Ghia project had brought together Chrysler Corporation and Ghia, and the 450 SS was based on the former's Plymouth Barracuda. Hand built and necessarily expansive, the 450 SS cost four times as much as the Barracuda and only some 55-or-so were sold (estimates vary).

Believed delivered new to the USA, like the majority, this example is believed to have resided in Florida until 2008. Freshly repainted in Papyrus White, the car was purchased by the current owner from Scuderia Sportiva Colonia in Germany in 2012, since when it has mainly been kept on static display within his important collection. Never registered by the current owner, the car comes with sundry invoices; 2012 German TüV; 2005 State of Florida Title (copy); some photographs of the respray; and German registration documents.

La Carrozzeria Ghia, réputée pour ses études de style menées pour les constructeurs du monde entier, a parfois construit des voitures complètes sous son propre nom, la plus connue étant la 450 SS de 1966. Ce projet Dual-Ghia avait réuni le groupe Chrysler et Ghia, la 450 SS dérivant de la Plymouth Barracuda du premier. Construite à la main et donc fort coûteuse, la 450 SS était vendue quatre fois le prix de la Barracuda et il ne s'en écoula qu'environ 55 (les estimations divergent).

Cet exemplaire, qu'on pense avoir été vendu neuf aux Etats-Unis comme la majorité des autres, serait demeuré en Floride jusqu'en 2008. Récemment repeint en blanc Papyrus White, il a été acheté en 2012 par son actuel propriétaire auprès de la Scuderia Sportiva Colonia, en Allemagne ; il a depuis été surtout conservé en exposition au sein de son importante collection. Jamais immatriculée par son actuel détenteur, la voiture est proposée avec diverses factures, son contrôle technique allemand de 2012, une copie de son titre de propriété de l'Etat de Floride de 2005, des photos de ses travaux de peinture et des documents d'immatriculation allemands.
