THE CAR OFFERED

By 1971, Plymouth's pony car offering, the Barracuda, had officially adopted its colloquial nickname, 'Cuda, which was the reserve of the high-performance models destined to take on the Camaro and Mustang head-to-head. Mopar had a habit of shoehorning increasingly large V8s into their lineup, creating some of the most memorable muscle cars of the early 70s in the process, and the E-Body 'Cuda was certainly not left out of the party.

This 1971 'Cuda from the Golden State Muscle Car Collection is an outstanding example from Mopar's cubic-inch-crazy days. As denoted by the 'V' in the chassis number, this car left the factory with the hulking 440ci option, additionally topped with the Six Pack 3 x 2bbl carbs, and a 'Shaker' fresh air intake. It continues to tick all the boxes with the 4-speed manual gearbox with signature Pistol Grip shifter, Track Pak rear axle, and slightly sinister yet understated all-black paint and vinyl roof. The interior is trimmed in period correct grey tweed fabric with black vinyl accents, and features Rallye instruments, a woodgrain center console, and high-back bucket seats.

Notes on file indicate this is believed to be one of 108 known 440 Six Pack 'Cuda Coupes built in 1971, making it a rare beast indeed. Beautifully preserved and detailed, and now ready for action, this 'Cuda will undoubtedly satiate the palate of any Mopar Muscle devotee.
