Around 1909, Frederick Osgood Paige and Harry Mulford Jewett joined forces to establish the Paige Detroit Motor Company, which built cars from 1909 to 1927 to the highest engineering standards. Eventually, the 'Paige Detroit' became just 'Paige' and total production is said to have amounted to around 400,000 vehicles, with peak sales of 43,500 in 1923. In1927 Paige was sold to the Graham brothers and the merged companies reconstituted as the Graham-Paige Motors Corporation. Nowadays a Paige Detroit or Paige is a rare sight, with very few examples surviving.

Offered here is Paige's top-of-the-range, 5/7-passenger, long-wheelbase, six-cylinder Fairfield tourer, which cost $1,395 when it was introduced in 1915. This Paige is believed delivered new in the USA where it was bought by the Belgian collector, who has kept the car in his collection since 1981. Completely restored in Belgium with the help of the collection's dedicated mechanic, who has kept it in running order, the Paige participated in the 8th 'Ronde van Brussel' rally in 1987 and in August 1996 was one of the classic cars on the grid at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps, conducting the F1 drivers around the circuit as part of the parade (photograph on file). The Paige was registered in Belgium again in April 2018, and has been enjoyed by the owner on numerous occasions. According to the vendor, the car starts and runs well. Accompanying documentation consist of Belgian registration documents; Contrôle Technique (valid until March 2025); a couple of black-and-white restoration photographs; a reference booklet; and a Paige brochure with all details of the Model Six.
