Footnotes

The G-Class we offer was delivered new to Germany where it had two or three different owners until 2002 when it was sold to France. The new French owner kept the car until 2019 when the current vendor bought it for his collection.

This G-Class is a short-wheelbase convertible version powered by the 3.5-litre turbo diesel engine that develops 136bhp. The vehicle is presented in its original Grey Blue colour and comes with a fawn-coloured soft top that was replaced recently. The vendor reports that the car is in very good condition and has always been serviced as it should be. The body appears free of major rust and shows signs of normal wear. The original badges are all present and well preserved, as are the chrome parts of the grille. The car rolls on 15" wheels, in excellent condition, shod with Goodrich off-road tyres.

The interior is trimmed in light grey leather in original condition and showing signs of normal wear. Given that the vehicle is 30 years old and has covered almost 145,750 kilometres, the leather has stood the test of time well. The interior is equipped with rare and desirable heated electric seats, a rare factory option. Two other rare options are air conditioning and cruise control. A modern Alpine radio is installed, but the original Blaupunkt Coburg radio/cassette comes with the car. The carpets are beautifully laid out and believed original. The centre console and dashboard feature the typical wooden inserts, fully intact, while in the boot you will find the original tool kit and a safety triangle.

The current owner replaced some rusty floor panels in 2021 while the underbody was treated with an anti-rust product. (This work was carried out at the same time as the aforementioned soft-top replacement.) The 350 TD engine has a reputation for being very reliable, and this example has been regularly maintained throughout its life and works well. In the last 18 months, a total of more than €12,000 has been invested in the Mercedes, including a full service (invoices on file). Maintenance reports and technical inspections (including odometer readings) trace the car's usage from December 1994 at 3,942km to December 2022 at 144,656km. A solid example, this G-Class is also offered with a valid French registration and a Mercedes-Benz history sheet. A perfect vehicle for summer and an opportunity not to be missed!
