Launched at the 1998 Milan Show, the F4 has already become part of MV legend. Designed by Massimo Tamburini, creator of the Ducati 916, the F4 employed a tubular-steel trellis frame, broadly similar to the Ducati's, carrying the water-cooled double-overhead-camshaft 16-valve engine. Designed by Ferrari, this state-of-the-art power unit produced a class-leading 135bhp, while a cassette-type six-speed gearbox enabled ratios to be changed without splitting the engine. But above all else it is the F4's inspired styling that stands out; now 25 years old, the F4 would still look futuristic if it were to be released as a new model today.

Currently showing only 3,166 kilometres on the odometer, the machine offered here is the 40th of only 50 MV Agusta F4 750 'Special Parts' body-kit models built, as confirmed by the accompanying Certificato di Autenticita. The MV was delivered new in the Geneva region of Switzerland and in 2004 was purchased by the current owner, who has hardly ever used it. The first (and most recent) service was carried out in Switzerland in May 2003 at 1,310 kilometres. Accompanying documentation includes the stamped service booklet; 2004 purchase invoice; proof of EU import; and Belgian registration papers. It should be noted that the fuel pump needs checking after a long period of storage. A definite collector's item, especially in view of the condition and limited use.

Please note that as this motorcycle has less than 6,000 kilometres recorded on the odometer, it is considered to be a New Means of Transport under EU law and will incur a VAT liability if sold to an EU country other than Belgium. The current Belgian VAT rate of 21% will be applied on the hammer price.
