This Ducati 888 racer was built by marque specialists JB Racing in 2021, starting with a complete strip-down and rebuild of the engine, which is carried in a modified original 888 frame. Other notable features include Maxton-modified forks; magnesium race wheels; YSS adjustable shock absorber; carbon-fibre fuel tank; and carbon-fibre seat unit. JBR have raced the Ducati four times since its construction two years ago, scoring one win (at Oulton Park) and 2nd, 3rd and 4th places at Anglesey. The engine and transmission were rebuilt again six months ago, which is when the machine last ran. The engine specification is as follows:

Crankcases vapour blasted and ultrasonically cleaned
All new bearings where required
New 'Fast by Ferracci' race pistons (98mm)
Barrels honed
New front cylinder fitted
Flywheel lightened
All components balanced: crankshaft, con-rods, pistons, flywheel
New big-end shells and new bolts
New gearbox bearings
Cylinder heads fully serviced and rebuilt: valves reseated; new valve guides, clearances set
36mm inlet and 30mm exhaust valves
Vernier cam pulleys fitted
Twin injectors
New slipper clutch assembly
Complete new race wiring harness fitted TWC
New Samco hose kit (blue)
Full Termignoni 50mm exhaust (new)
Hi pressure (5 bar) fuel pump
Carbon airbox

For Memorabilia and Spares (Lots 1-117) the Buyers Premium is 27.5% on the first £20,000 of the hammer price; 26% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £20,000 up to and including £700,000; 20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £700,000 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

For Motorcycles (Lots 201-276 & 301-560) the Buyers Premium will be 15% on the first £500,000 of the Hammer Price of each Lot, and 12% on the balance thereafter.
Buyers attention is drawn to Condition 7 of the Notice to Bidders. VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
