This matching numbers Honda TLM260RF is one of those hand built in limited numbers in the HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) workshops and intended for the use of professional riders. The machine was imported and purchased by the current owner on 18th February 2019.
Tony King (a TLM specialist) was commissioned to bring the Honda back to close to 'as new' condition. To that end the frame was stripped and re-painted, as was the engine, which is described as mechanically sound. The front forks were stripped; the stanchions re-chromed and new seals fitted; and the fork clamps machined and polished. The swinging arm was machined and polished, with all bearings replaced, including those for the shock absorber mounts. The original shock has been fully serviced. The original wheels and hubs have been stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt with new stainless spokes and new bearings. Both Nissin brake callipers have been stripped, serviced and rebuilt, and the sump guard machined and cleaned. The bike has also been fitted with a hand made front exhaust and brake pedal; titanium footrests; and numerous titanium bolts. It also has a flat-slide carburettor, replacing the original instrument. As can be seen from the photographs the bike is in great condition. Not ridden since restoration, it comes with a Honda UK dating certificate and V5C document.
