Previously registered 'TGF 706', the machine we offer is an ex-works 'all alloy' competition model ridden in period by Gordon Mclaughlan. This 'time warp' machine retains many of the original special features fitted by the factory to works bikes intended for ISDT use. They include the compressor/tyre inflater (also serving as a fire extinguisher); front tyre scraper; works tool boxes; Lucas Wader magneto; and duplicated cables and control  levers. Most importantly, the speedometer drive is taken from inside the rear hub, which enables the 'QD' rear wheel to be taken out without having to remove the drive chain or rear brake; all of which helped speed up puncture repairs. This machine is known to have formerly shared a stable with Gordon Jackson's works AJS ('TLP 686') on which he won the British Experts' Trial in 1957. Never restored, this wonderful motorcycle has covered fewer that 3,000 miles from new. It featured in Real Classic magazine in its August 2016 edition (copy available) and also comes with a very rare book signed by all three ISDT team members: Gordon Mclaughlan, Gordon Jackson and Gordon Blakeway. The history file also contains a V5C and lots of other interesting printed material. Last run in 2012, this wonderfully original survivor is said to be a pleasure to ride and own.
