Ordered 2009 and delivered new in 2010 to the current vendor, this RC8 came with ergonomic controls, crash protection, cosmetic accessories, RC8 tank bag, and KTM 1200 Adventure pannier racks, custom mounted with KTM aluminium panniers and a tailbox platform. It was thus specified to undertake an intended month's long tour of Europe and Scandinavia tour, which ended up being severely shortened due to a change of circumstances. After a much shortened tour to Slovenia in 2010, the KTM was consigned to professional dry storage until June 2016 when it was ridden to the Isle of Man TT Week and to Ireland. Since then the machine has been in professional dry storage with the battery on a maintenance charge and the engine run up monthly. In October 2022 a small coolant leak was repaired (hose changed); a broken mirror assembly replaced; and the bike serviced and MoT'd.
Notable features include adjustable footrests; folding/adjustable levers; low 'racing' screen; progressive (smoother, lower ratio) throttle tube; and a 'racing' steering stopper. Protection and cosmetic accessories fitted when new include foot shields; crash pads and sliders; crash protectors; orange aluminium brake fluid reservoir caps; Scottoiler chain lubrication system; and a Datatool S4-C1 Red immobiliser/alarm. All original parts will be included in sale. There are a few marks to the paintwork and a small nick on the seat, but otherwise no damage anywhere. Currently displaying a total of 22,176 miles on the odometer, the machine is offered with a V5C registration document and MoT to October 2023. Keys present.
