This Laverda RGS was imported from New Zealand in 1992, accompanying its then owner, and was purchased by our vendor from North Leicester Motorcycles in January 2016 (bill of sale on file). When purchased it was said that the previous owner had fitted new brake discs and electronic ignition, and that the machine had been repainted with a green stripe and received new exhausts while with a former owner.
The Laverda has been in professional dry storage since its acquisition apart from one trip to the Isle of Man TT Week and Ireland in 2016. It was last run in March 2023 following a service and replacement of some carburettor parts. At the same time the fuel tank was removed and a paint blemish resprayed, and a leak at the filler neck repaired. The tank had been kept dry until the aforementioned service, which included ultrasonic cleaning and rebuilding the carburettors; installing a new battery; and an MoT test. Even though this example has covered 58,166km (36,144 miles) its condition shows that it has been well looked after and used as its makers intended. The vendor describes the bodywork as excellent, with only minor imperfections, and advises us that the RGS has been well maintained and is running well. Accompanying documentation includes sundry bills, a V5C Registration Certificate, and MoT to March 2024. Keys present.
