Footnotes

Founded by Sidney Horstmann in 1904, Horstman cars were designed and built in James Street West in Bath from 1913 until 1929. Originally known as the Horstmann Car Company, the name of the company was later changed to just 'Horstman' to look less Germanic following the end of WWI.

Over the years there has been a growing interest into the history of Horstman in Bath, and today the Tourers are incredibly rare with only eight believed to exist. At the time of its release the car was praised for its design and unique innovations, which included a single-dry-plate clutch and a three-speed gearbox that was incorporated into the rear axle.

This 1924 example is presented in a lovely blue colour scheme with a contrasting grey leather interior. Overall the car is in a very good condition with the paintwork, bodywork and interior all presenting well. This is also a driving example, and the car's 995cc four-cylinder engine is said to be running as it should be. Sadly there is little history included with the car, but this is a rare opportunity to acquire a unique and historic vehicle.
