Footnotes

Later known for its upmarket variations of cars from the British Motor Corporation, Wolseley was once famous for its sports cars that were competitive against the likes of MG. Introduced in 1930, the Wolseley Hornet helped to build this reputation and was available in saloon, coupe and open top configurations. The Hornet was also available in a 'Special' configuration, which was a coach-built variation that was bespoke to a customer's choosing.

This example is a 1934 Hornet Special that is powered by a 1,604cc six-cylinder engine which was only available in the Special. The car is in very good condition throughout and comes with an extensive history file. This includes multiple old pictures of the car, old hill climb passes, and various invoices and receipts. More recently it is recorded that approximately £6,000 has been spent on maintenance since 2011 (which included fitting new king pins and timing the carburettor). The blue paintwork is in average order and blue leather seats present very well and are well suited to the car. This is a useable, pre-war classic that is in good running and working condition.
