Seriously expensive when new, the G-wagen is unsurprisingly sold in small numbers but today it offers buyers great value, offering longevity, high-quality engineering and the support of numerous Mercedes-Benz specialists. This short wheelbase 2.8-litre petrol example has the benefit of a re-built automatic transmission and comes to the auction in generally tidy order both inside and out, the regularly-undersealed bodywork having been re-painted three years ago. Used on a daily basis and with around 150,000 miles on the clock, it has been looked after by a Mercedes-Benz specialist who has renewed the complete braking system and fitted a new fuel tank.
Running and driving well and having some history, this regularly-used, sorted G-wagen makes a great alternative to a same-age Range Rover.
