Offering a heady combination of power and roadholding, the second-generation MR2 was highly sophisticated, compact-sized package easily capable of taking on much more expensive rivals, and today it continues to be a first-rate route to affordable serious performance. MPH's Japanese import offers good bodywork and reasonable black paintwork, set off with aftermarket five-spoke alloy wheels. The interior is in reasonable order, the half-leather driver's seat showing wear but otherwise it has survived well. The engine bay is tidy.
