Lot 520

Property of a deceased's estate, 1976 Honda CB250

Property of a deceased's estate
1976 Honda CB250
Registration no. NOP 972M
Frame no. CB250-5032588
Engine no. CB250E-5033639

The Honda CB250 superseded the Japanese manufacturer's hugely successful CB72 quarter-litre twin when it arrived in 1968. Although retaining its predecessor's basic architecture, being an air-cooled single-overhead-camshaft design, the new engine was styled differently, with cylinders virtually upright, and went into a new tubular cradle frame that replaced the earlier spine type. In addition, there were now five speeds in the gearbox plus a powerful twin-leading-shoe front brake, and with a claimed 30bhp on tap at 10,250rpm, the new CB250 was good for a top speed of around 90mph.

This CB250 was purchased by the deceased owner in 2023 and has been used sparingly. No previous history is known. Although started recently, the Honda was firing on only one cylinder so will checking/recommissioning before use and thus is sold strictly as viewed. A total of 32,079 miles is currently displayed on the odometer. Accompanying paperwork consists of a V5C Registration Certificate, a Haynes manual, and a Honda CB250 service manual.
