THE MOTORCYCLE OFFERED

The single wheel and 150cc 9.6hp Honda motorcycle drivetrain at the rear is pretty conventional.

The front is anything but conventional, with dual live axles, four steered wheels and suspended with coil springs on rocker arms. It's not the 1976 Tyrrell P34 F1 car, but close enough. There's a laydown seat like Dan Gurney's innovative "Alligator" motorcycle.

The donor to the National Automobile Museum, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, described it this way:

"The Fink Mobile was made from a 189 Honda Elite motorcycle [scooter]. The four front steering wheels make for a safer turn and the front 'nerf' bars serve as a footrest. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth used fiberglass for the construction of the body and maintained the small Honda 150 cc water cooled four stroke engine.

"The Fink Mobile was built as a prediction of the future of personal vehicles."

Driven (ridden?) by BDR in parades and at events, this was built as a functional and dramatic concept that begs to be ridden, particularly by someone brave enough to do it in Rat Fink guise.
