• Known to have been used by Walt Disney World Orlando as an official parade vehicle
• Retains its original Disney asset plaque on the dashboard
• Finished in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo specification with #53 livery
• Acquired by Movie Cars Central with documentation confirming Disney origin
• In the current collection since 2014
• Accompanied by its French registration (carte grise)
This charming 1962 Volkswagen Beetle represents a faithful replica of the world-famous "Love Bug" — Herbie, the beloved star of Disney's classic film series.
As described by the Volo Auto Museum, this car was believed to have been one of the vehicles built for the 1977 production Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo. While no definitive documentation exists to confirm its direct use in the film, it has long been recognised as a genuine Disney-associated Herbie.
It is understood that this example served as an official parade vehicle at Walt Disney World Orlando, where it was also used for various promotional events. Later owned by Dave Grimmett, it was restored in the late 1990s and featured at the Hollywood World Premiere of Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005).
Subsequently acquired by the Volo Auto Museum in Illinois, the car remained on display and participated in numerous events until its purchase by the current owner in 2014.
Since joining the Movie Cars Central collection, Herbie has been seen at numerous events across Europe — from the Nürburgring Nordschleife to the Tour Auto (as a press car). Today, this instantly recognisable Beetle is offered for sale accompanied by its French registration documents and supporting Disney provenance paperwork.
