• Built by Dennis McCarthy / Vehicle Effects for Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
• Used in the film's opening race sequence for the high-speed jump and barrel-roll crash scenes
• Retains original production markings and stunt coordination labels from Universal Pictures
• Later acquired by Movie Cars Central from a private owner in the United Kingdom
Constructed by Dennis McCarthy's Vehicle Effects team, this 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was designated "Jump Car #2" and purpose-built for the spectacular opening race sequence of Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). It was used for both the airborne jump and the subsequent barrel-roll crash, forming part of one of the franchise's most memorable introductions.
To withstand the extreme demands of filming, the car was equipped with a reinforced chassis, integrated roll cage, and a Chevrolet big-block V8 engine, ensuring strength and performance during multiple high-impact stunt takes. The Monte Carlo still retains its original production labels and stunt markings applied by Universal Pictures, confirming its on-screen use.
Following production, the car passed through private ownership before being acquired by Movie Cars Central, where it has been preserved in authentic stunt configuration.
Offered with its US title, documentation from the previous owner, spare parts and a workshop manual, this Monte Carlo represents an exciting opportunity to acquire a genuine Fast & Furious stunt car — whether as a display piece, a collector's prop, or the basis of a restoration project to return it to the road.
