Norton 750cc Manx/Commando Replica Racing Motorcycle

Norton 750cc Manx/Commando Replica Racing Motorcycle
Registration no. not registered
Frame no. R.M.T MX 08
Engine no. tba

The private vendor advises us that this Norton Manx/Commando replica is built around a Manx-type frame fabricated by renowned frame builder Roger Titchmarsh, which is paired with a 750cc Commando engine developed by respected engine specialist Steve Maney. The bike is equipped with a TTI gearbox, a Fontana four-leading-shoe front brake, and a twin leading shoe rear brake.

The current owner commissioned the machine from Minnovation Racing of Wakefield, who constructed it in 2012. It features a Manx-type wideline frame and swinging arm fabricated by Titchmarsh, together with Minnovation yokes and race-prepared Ceriani front forks. Both wheels are fitted with lightweight rims and Fontana hubs, delivering high-performance stopping power.

The engine is a high-specification unit from Steve Maney, incorporating specially designed crankcases capable of accommodating up to 1,000cc barrels; a one-piece crankshaft; Carrillo connecting rods; and JE pistons. It currently runs at approximately 11:1 compression. The ignition system is a self-generating Electrex World setup.

Originally conceived as a competitive machine for the Lansdowne class with a 500cc Manx engine, this bike was ultimately fitted with the 750cc Commando unit. Despite being built for racing, it has only ever been used for parade laps, including two appearances at the Classic TT. The engine was refreshed prior to storage. The Norton is now offered for sale due to lack of use. It has CRMC registration and remains in excellent condition, having never been raced. Built at significant cost with top-tier components throughout, it represents a highly desirable and meticulously engineered classic racing motorcycle.

Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning and/or restoration to a greater or lesser extent before returning to the road and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's completeness, history, authenticity, originality and mechanical condition prior to bidding.
