1997 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport Injection

1997 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport Injection
Registration no. P464 GEC
Frame no. ZGUKFA1KFTM111628
Engine no. KF11579

Although the most advanced model in Moto Guzzi's range, the eight-valve Daytona had not proved a runaway success, while demand for the long-in-the-tooth Le Mans Mark V was still holding up. Guzzi's inspired solution was to put the 'old' four-valve motor, suitably up-rated, in a modified version of the Daytona's chassis, and restyle the result to create the cheaper but no less dramatic looking 1100 Sport. The later was carburettor fed at first before being superseded by the 1100 Sport Injection for 1997.

This Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport Injection was purchased from Moto Strada by the late owner in November 2015 and has been used sparingly since then. No previous history is known. It is offered from a private collection of motorcycles which were run regularly up to 2022 when the late owner's ill health prevented any further work or use. All of the machines were purchased from dealers and had been fully serviced prior to joining the collection. None have been ridden since they were confined to storage apart from a short trip to a local show where they were displayed.

Dry stored in dedicated accommodation while in the late owner's care, the Guzzi was last run a few years ago and will need recommissioning before returning to the road. The machine is offered with a V5C Registration Certificate; the 2015 purchase receipt; sundry invoices; an owner's manual; and a quantity of old tax discs and expired MoTs. The current odometer reading is 40,897 miles.

Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning and/or restoration to a greater or lesser extent before returning to the road and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to this motorcycle's completeness, history, authenticity, originality and mechanical condition prior to bidding.
