• Very late example of the model
• Kept in climate controlled 'Carcoon'
Benelli built and produced the first production six-cylinder motorcycle available to the public in 1973 when the 750 Sei was introduced. Said to be loosely based on the Honda 500 four with two extra cylinders, it was a spectacular and exotic machine for the time. By the expedient of enlarging the bore and stroke, in 1978 they turned the 750 into the 900 Sei. The 900 ran from 1978 to 1989. Officially imported to the UK from 1979, the 900 Sei was only available to special order from 1987-on.
L719 GYH appears to have been imported and registered in the UK in August 1993, when it was registered as a new machine. The private vendor purchased it in January 2016 (invoice on file), at which time the recorded mileage was 895 Kms. The mileage recorded at the last MoT on 11 January 2016 was 880 Kms.
Since purchase, the vendor has not used the Benelli on the road, having formed part of his private collection, keeping it in a climate-controlled 'Carcoon'. The only alteration from standard specification advised by the vendor is that the Benelli is fitted with Tarozzi rearsets. Having last started the machine 3 years ago, it will require a degree of re-commissioning and safety checks, if the new owner intends to use it. The Sei is now being sold only due to the vendor's age.
Documentation comprises a current V5C, some expired MoT certificates, the original bill of sale, and copy workshop manual and handbook.
