"With the Ghost, Rolls-Royce has followed Bentley's lead and not been shy about making its 'entry-level' car substantially more powerful and therefore quicker than the flagship model above it." – Autocar.

Its name evoking that of the Edwardian-era Silver Ghost, the Rolls-Royce Ghost was conceived as a smaller and more affordable alternative to the range-topping Phantom, whose practical and aesthetically pleasing rear-hinged back doors it inherited. The prototype, coded '200EX', first appeared in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show, with the almost unaltered production model making its debut later that year at Frankfurt. This new 'entry-level' Rolls-Royce was based on the contemporary BMW 7-Series platform and intended to compete with Bentley's Flying Spur and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The Ghost was powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which delivered its 562bhp via a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, and despite its not inconsiderable weight (5,490lb) could race to 60mph (97km/h) in 4.7 seconds on its way to an electronically limited maximum speed of 155.3mph.

Introduced in 2014, the Series II featured a mildly restyled exterior and a revamped cabin together with various upgrades to the running gear, while introduced for the first time was a high-performance variant: the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge. Distinguishing it from the regular Ghost, the latter boasted features coloured black, such as the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot and the exhaust system. The model is also equipped with the unique Black Badge wheels.

The Black Badge is powered by an enhanced version of Rolls-Royce's 6.6-litre V12 engine, which produces a maximum power output of 603hp at 5,250rpm and maximum torque of 620lb/ft between 1,650 and 5,000 revs. Thus equipped the Black Badge can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

This immaculate Ghost Black Badge was ordered new by our vendor. The car has covered circa 2,600 miles since delivery and was last serviced in May 2025. MoT'd to February 2027, it comes with full Rolls-Royce service history and factory brochure containing a detailed list of its mouth-watering specification. Factory-fitted extra-cost options include rear privacy glass; television tuner; rear theatre configuration; and picnic tables, all of which helped bring the purchase price up to a not inconsiderable £365,040. Offered with a V5C document. It should be noted that the private plate 'TOP 1' is being retained by the vendor.
