1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello
Coachwork by Pininfarina

Chassis no. ZFFZR49B000117416

• Delivered new in Madrid, Spain.
• 485hp V12 with a manual gearbox
• Recently serviced

With the introduction of the 550 Maranello in 1997, Ferrari had returned to its tradition of building front-engined V12 sports cars, resurrecting a line that had remained dormant since the demise of the 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' in 1974. The heart of any Ferrari is its engine, and the 550 Maranello's 48-valve, 5.5-litre V12 developed 485bhp at 7,000rpm, some 100-or-so horsepower more than the Daytona's. Ferrari had discovered long ago that providing optimum balance in a front-engined sports car necessitated the use of a rear transaxle, and the Maranello's came with six speeds. The power train was housed in a tubular steel chassis, to which was attached aluminium coachwork, while the all-independent suspension incorporated dual-mode (normal/sports) damping, switch-selectable by the driver, which was complemented by speed-sensitive power-assisted steering.

This 550 Maranello was delivered new on October 28, 1999 by Ferrari's Testarossa Cars dealership in Madrid. It is said to have spent time in Morocco before joining a French collection in October 2012. Since then, it has been maintained by LDO Racing in Triel-sur-Seine, an establishment well known to Ferrari enthusiasts. Since 2024 it has been with its current Danish owner, but it still comes with its French registration documents.

The car sports the iconic Rosso Corsa livery, the varnish of which has been sun-damaged in places. The interior features beige and black leather on the dashboard. The current owner has since he purchased the car in 2024 partially refurbished the interior, and it comes freshly serviced. It now has approximately 58,700 km on the clock.

The car comes with its book pack, various maintenance invoices French registration paper work.

1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello
