In 1936 Chicagoan Norman A. Siegel saw what Salsbury was doing in California and decided to try his hand at 'scootering'. Using many similar design and technical ques, the Moto-Scoot manufacturing Co. started to take a significant market share by 1939. Producing scooters during the war and in the post war period, they would go on to produce more scooters than both Salsbury and Cushman. Equipped with a 1.5 H.P. Briggs and Stratton engine, they developed a reputation for reliability, and with their lightweight but robust design, they became the perfect way to mobilize in the post war era.

For 1940 the Moto-Scoot Manufacturing Co had effectively worked out its final design. Featuring front suspension and louvered body work it is seen here trimmed in a warm brown with lighter brown accents. This Moto-Scoot had benefited from a tidy older restoration. Ripe for recommissioning after a period of display in a prominent collection this Moto-Scoot would look quite handsome next to a similarly painted pre-war car.

Buyers Premium and Charges
The final bid (hammer) price of each lot will be subject to a buyer's premium.
For MOTORCYCLE property the premium is 15% on the first $100,000 of the bid price and 10% on any amount of the bid price exceeding $100,000.
For AUTOMOBILIA or non motor vehicle property, the premium is 28% of the first $50,000 of the bid price, plus 27% of the amount of the bid price above $50,000 up to and including $1,000,000, plus 21% of the amount of the bid price above $1,000,000 up to and including $6,000,000, plus 14.5% of the amount of the bid price above $6,000,000.
A 3rd-party bidding platform fee equal to 4% of the Hammer Price shall be payable by buyers whose successful bid is submitted via 3rd-party bidding platforms, including Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
Buyers' Obligations

MOTORCYCLE UPLIFT CHARGE
Motorcycle lot collection will be applicable to a $75 uplift charge per lot payable to Schumacher if collected by the buyer or authorised agent. This fee will be waived if the buyer books transport with Schumacher.
