One of the first sporting derivatives of Honda's classic C100 Cub 'step-thru' - the C110 Sports Cub - appeared in October 1960. Unlike the Cub, the C110 was a proper small motorcycle, with spine frame and a more powerful version of the C100 motor. A 90cc version – the C200 – was added to the range for 1963. In 1964 an overhead-camshaft, all-alloy version of the Cub engine was introduced on the new CS90 sports. Sold as the S90 the latter abandoned Honda's traditional leading-link front fork in favor of a telescopic forks, while a revised form of the spine frame and larger (18") wheels were adopted at the same time. Although it only produced 8bhp, the ultra-lightweight (191lbs) CS90 was surprisingly nippy and provided many a fortunate learner with his/her first taste of proper motorcycling. New for 1966, CL90 'street scrambler' variant featured an upswept exhaust system and gaiters on the front fork legs. Production of the CL90 continued until the end of 1970.

This 1967 CL90 is a wonderfully preserved example with under 400 miles on the Nippon-Seiki odometer. Wearing silver paint on its gas tank and a red frame this extremely handsome Honda is ready to be shown once again at any concours event. This CL90 will require some recommissioning prior to use.

Buyers Premium and Charges

For AUTOMOBILIA or non motor vehicle property, the premium is 28% of the first $50,000 of the bid price, plus 27% of the amount of the bid price above $50,000 up to and including $1,000,000, plus 21% of the amount of the bid price above $1,000,000 up to and including $6,000,000, plus 14.5% of the amount of the bid price above $6,000,000.
A 3rd-party bidding platform fee equal to 4% of the Hammer Price shall be payable by buyers whose successful bid is submitted via 3rd-party bidding platforms, including Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
