The Silver Spur, which was the long-wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit, was based on the preceding Silver Shadow II to which it bore a distinct family resemblance.
Along with the other models in the SZ series, the Silver Spur was one of the last Crewe-built Rolls-Royces with truly British DNA running through it.
The next generations of 'The World's Best Car' would be built by BMW in a new facility at Goodwood, England.
It featured Rolls-Royce's familiar four-door monocoque bodyshell, a smooth and powerful 6750cc V8 engine allied to the automatic transmission, all-round independent suspension, adaptive ride control, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS.
Delivered new on 18th January 1982 via Jack Barclay Ltd to its first owner, J. Barrett, in London, this right-hand drive Silver Spur Long Wheelbase saloon is finished in Cotswold Beige with a dark brown interior. The car's accompanying history file includes photocopies of the original build documentation, detailing the car's specifications, assembly, checks, and inspection records, as well as the original invoice/order and its Warranty Acknowledgment document.
The car underwent significant service by Bahman Cars in March 2024, and a cosmetic restoration of the interior was completed in 2021, with invoices included in the file. It also includes older invoices from 2004, 2005, and 2006 from Swiss marque specialists.
Offered with a spare key and its original Swiss carte grise (registration document), the car has been inspected by the Geneva state on 30th April 2024, with no defaults noted. The mileage at the time of inspection was 93,696.
Please kindly note that this car will be available for viewing by prior appointment in STUDEN (SWITZERLAND): please contact [email protected] and [email protected] for booking.
