Watercolour and India ink. Depicts two elegant ladies awaited by their chauffeur in a Daimler, standing before the window display of the Grosch & Greiff department store.
Circa 1907. Monogrammed and signed in the centre at the bottom.
Framed, 23 x 18 cm.

Provenance: Georges Léonnec contributed as an illustrator to numerous periodicals, including Le Rire, Le Sourire, and L'Assiette au Beurre. From 1907 onwards, he produced works for La Vie Parisienne and created advertisements for Renault and Daimler. This piece was likely commissioned by the latter.

Historique: Georges Léonnec collabora en tant qu'illustrateur à de nombreux périodiques tels que "Le Rire", "Le Sourire", "L'Assiette au Beurre". A partir de 1907 il dessina pour "La Vie Parisienne" et réalisa des publicités pour Renault et Daimler. C'est probablement pour cette marque qu'il réalisa cette œuvre.

Shipping Notices
Bonhams Automobilia do not have a Shipping Department or postal service for dispatch of lots purchased in Bonhams auctions.
All lots will be transferred to Paname Enchères, 54 Av. Gaston Monmousseau, 93240 Stains and will be available from 4 December 2024 at 12:00 noon. Please note that Bonhams France will be closed from 22 December 2024 to 3 January 2025.
Collection can ONLY be made by appointment if requested by e-mail at least 24 hours in advance. Please contact [email protected] to obtain the contact details of independent transporters partnering the sale or to make an appointment for collection.
Storage charges are waived for the first week following the sale: 4-13 December and during the annual closed period when collection services cannot be provided by Bonhams i.e. 22 December - 3 January.
The storage fee will be €5 per day per item from 14 December to 21 December and from 4 January 2025, the end of the annual closure.

Les frais de stockage sont offerts la première semaine suivant la vente : du 4 au 13 décembre et durant la période de fermeture annuelle où les services de collecte ne pourront être assurés par Bonhams à savoir du 22 décembre au 3 janvier.
Les frais de stockage seront de 5€ par jour et par objet du 14 décembre au 21 décembre, puis à partir du 4 janvier 2025, fin de la fermeture annuelle.
