New Jaguar models historically don't come along too often; new out and out sports cars with a leaping cat on the nose are vanishingly rare. Though it wasn't entirely new – making use of elements of the XJS platform – 1996's Jaguar XK8 introduced a new generation to the joys of Jaguar's take on the Gran Turismo formula. Unlike its predecessors, which made great use of six- and twelve-cylinder engines, the XK8 was exclusively V8-powered. No doubt influenced by its new American overlords at Ford, Jaguar's V8 engine came in 4.0 and 4.2-litre flavours, with either natural aspiration or a spicy supercharged setup.
This charming left-hand drive Jaguar was delivered new to its current owner in the Netherlands in January 1997, who bought it for his wife. It is finished in the elegant combination of Antigua Blue with a Magnolia interior. In addition to standard features such as air conditioning, electrically adjustable leather seats and wood trim, it is also equipped with a CD changer located in the boot. All necessary ingredients for a summer trip to the South of France or to your winter sport destination.
With just 61,314 km on the odometer, the car has been kept in a private collection on static display for the last years. As a result, a service will be required before it returns to light up the roads. It is accompanied by its original Dutch registration document.
