1978 BMW R60/7
Registration no. WFJ 672S
Frame no. 6008681 R60/7
Engine no. none

The BMW R60/7, produced between 1976 and 1980, is a classic motorcycle that epitomizes BMW's engineering excellence during the era. It was part of BMW's /7 series, renowned for reliability, craftsmanship, and versatility. Powered by a 599cc air-cooled, horizontally-opposed twin-cylinder engine, the R60/7 delivered a modest but smooth 40 horsepower, making it an ideal choice for touring and everyday use. The motorcycle featured BMW's hallmark boxer engine configuration, which ensured excellent balance and low vibration. Its robust design included a shaft drive, eliminating the need for chain maintenance and enhancing durability. With a top speed of around 100 mph, the R60/7 provided ample performance for the open road while remaining fuel-efficient. Riders appreciated its comfortable upright seating position, long-distance capability, and low-maintenance characteristics. The R60/7 also offered impressive handling, courtesy of its well-tuned suspension and stable frame design, which was ahead of its time. The bike's timeless design and dependable performance have made it a sought-after model among vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. For those who admire classic machines with practical appeal, the BMW R60/7 remains an enduring symbol of BMW's commitment to quality and innovation in motorcycle manufacturing.

Currently displaying 48,884 miles on the speedometer, this R60/7 was purchased by the late owner over 30 years ago and been stored since. Offered for recommissioning or restoration, an ideal opportunity for a winter project. Little is known about its previous history; documentation consists of an old style V5 and expired MoTs.
