Lot 136

A set of unused Replica Strutted Webb type girder forks

A set of unused Replica Strutted Webb type girder forks

believed suitable for earlier Velocette KTT models. The vendor bought these and Lot 137 about ten years ago, but has never used either of them. The previous owner, who had also not used either component, told the vendor that he had commissioned girder fork maestro Ray Daniels to build the forks. They were built slightly wider at the bottom specifically to accommodate the replica mark VIII hub, the gap between the flats being 5 5/16" (about 135mm), but it should be possible to use them with an original hub with suitable spacers. A mark VIII type torque arm is incorporated, but the original boss which restrained the matching flat on the earlier style of alloy brake plate is retained. It should be noted that there is no steering stem with this lot. Prospective bidders must satisfy themselves as to the condition, completeness, authenticity and compatibility of this lot's component parts prior to bidding.
