Norton-Suzuki 650cc 'Smanx' Special

Norton-Suzuki 650cc 'Smanx' Special
Registration no. not registered (see text)
Frame no. unable to locate
Engine no. P401-108322

This unique Anglo-Japanese 'special' is the result of a two-year project to build a modern Manx Norton evocation. Its principal components consist of a Suzuki LS 650 Savage air-cooled single-cylinder engine, tuned and converted to chain final drive (from belt), and a replica Manx-type frame. Other notable features include a dummy oil tank which houses the electronics; forks and rear suspension modified by Maxton; Ceriani 4LS front brake; Triumph conical rear hub; custom-built Manx-type short circuit fuel tank; aluminium works-type Manx seat; and one-off ignition and exhaust systems, the latter made by Larry Swan. The machine is geared for a maximum of 140mph and is said to sound amazing. There's no denying that it looks the part.

The 'Smanx' was purchased by the vendor 5 years ago and has been used only occasionally, it formed part of their private collection which the vendor is now downsizing. It has been kept dry stored within his climate controlled garage and was started up recently. A unique opportunity to acquire a special boasting a modern replica Norton Featherbed frame and a reliable and powerful Suzuki engine.

It should be noted that although this motorcycle displays the registration 'YKD 922', it has not proved possible to locate a frame number and thus it is offered unregistered and sold strictly as viewed.
