1969 Triumph 490cc Tiger T100S
Registration no. PSN 358G
Frame no. EC 19673 T100S
Engine no. EC 19673 T100S

PSN 358G was purchased by the present owner in December 1986. It was UK-registered in August 1986, and is likely to have been re-imported to the UK (possibly a USA machine), as the first MoT from that time records it by frame number initially, then with the DVLA amendment when its registration was allocated. Recourse to the factory records by a new owner could confirm this. Whatever its history up to that point, it is clear that this machine was its owner's favourite 'go-to' bike, as he seemed to use this more than his other machines. By 1999 he felt that the engine was in need of some attention, and entrusted the engine/gearbox rebuild to the well-known Triumph expert, Hughie Hancox. Hancox rebuilt the engine incorporating hardened valve seats suitable for unleaded fuel, new valves and guides, lower compression pistons, reground crank, new big end shells, new main bearings, new exhaust camshaft, new alternator rotor, oil seals and many other parts. Duly reinstalled in 2000, the rebuilt motor continued to provide sterling service for the owner until recently. The Tiger has not been used for approximately a year, so will require an amount of re-commissioning and basic safety checks prior to use with a new owner. Documentation comprises a current V5C, 2 old-type V5s, documentation relating to the engine rebuild, a quantity of expired MoT certificates, and a quantity of correspondence, invoices, and sundry papers. Also present are a sales brochure and handbook.
