2004 Buell 984cc XB9R Firebolt
Registration no. LF53 HYC
Frame no. 4MZAX12J233404881
Engine no. *AX123404881*

A marque that didn't exist 50 years ago, Buell travelled a long way in a relatively short time before its demise and recent revival. Founded by Erik Buell, the company established its own unique brand image, building a range of Harley-Davidson-powered sports bikes combining the Milwaukee twin's traditional 'stump pulling' torque with a state-of-the art chassis possessing the dimensions and geometry of a Grand Prix 250. As Buell production steadily increased so did Harley-Davidson's stake in the company, which it would come to own outright. With H-D's resources behind him, Erik Buell was able to take his unique concept a stage further, introducing an entirely new aluminium-alloy beam chassis on the XB Series in 2002. Innovative as ever, the latter contained fuel within its main spars and oil in the swinging arm.

This Buell Firebolt was purchased new in April 2004 from supplying dealer Warr's Harley-Davidson on the King's Road, Chelsea, who are recorded as the previous keeper. We are advised it has only covered a few hundred miles from new, including being used by the late Alain de Cadenet for a run to Silverstone and back. Not used for some time, the machine will certainly need a new battery and recommissioning before further use. Offered with assorted paperwork and a V5C.
