The Robert Lusk Motorcycle Collection, 1975 MV Agusta 125 Sport

The Robert Lusk Motorcycle Collection
1975 MV Agusta 125 Sport
Registration no. JJH 571N
Frame no. MV125 CE*21801762
Engine no. 21801347

Introduced in 1975, the MV Agusta 125 Sport shared the sharp styling cues of its larger stablemates, the 350 Ipotesi and the 750S America. Representing the swansong of the original MV Agusta prior to the marque's revival in the late 1990s, the model combined distinctive looks with proven engineering. A full duplex frame housed a single-cylinder overhead-valve engine built to MV's traditional 53 x 56mm bore and stroke dimensions, while clip-on handlebars, a sports saddle and a racing-style fuel tank gave the machine the stance and appeal of a true miniature superbike. Aimed squarely at younger enthusiasts, the 125 Sport was exclusive when new thanks to its relatively high price tag, ensuring rarity today.

First registered in the UK in November 1988, the machine was purchased by Robert in 2006, when it was described as being in "as new" condition throughout and unmodified from factory specification. The file contains two MoTs, from 2006 and 2016, showing that only 138 additional kilometres were covered in that ten-year period.

At the time of cataloguing, this example showed just 349 kilometres from new. Appearing highly original and very well preserved, it is offered with an old-style V5C, together with a photocopy of an earlier V5 recording two former keepers in the Newbury area. Also included is the original Italian-language instruction book.

A rare opportunity to acquire a remarkably well-preserved example of MV Agusta's final small-capacity sports machine of the classic era.

Prospective buyers should please note that whilst Robert actively started and maintained his collection, all machines are offered as requiring recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent.
