THE PONTIAC GTO
A rare and exceptional example of Pontiac's muscle car legacy, this 1969 GTO Judge Ram Air IV is presented in its factory-correct Carousel Red with a contrasting black vinyl top—a bold and iconic combination that defined the era. Having undergone a comprehensive rotisserie restoration, the car remains in good condition and represents one of the most desirable GTO configurations ever produced.
The GTO Judge was introduced in 1969 as Pontiac's high-impact answer to the muscle car wars—intended to capture younger buyers with aggressive styling, race-inspired engineering, and unrivaled street presence. The Ram Air IV variant remains the most collectible of the series, built in extremely limited numbers.
Under the hood is the legendary XP-code 400ci Ram Air IV V8, rated at a conservative 370bhp at 5,500 rpm and 445 lb-ft of torque at 3,900 rpm. The Ram Air IV was the pinnacle of Pontiac performance in 1969, equipped with round-port heads, a high-lift hydraulic camshaft with 1.65:1 rocker arms, aluminum high-rise intake manifold, a specially calibrated Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, and free-flowing cast-iron exhaust manifolds. Designed exclusively for performance, it was not available with air conditioning and came paired with aggressive 3.90 or 4.33 rear-end gearing.
THE CAR OFFERED
This example is even more significant as one of only 58 GTO Judges fitted with the optional M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. It also features power steering, power front disc brakes, a Saf-T-Track heavy-duty differential, and Rally II wheels with redline tires—finished without trim rings for a purposeful, muscular look. Inside, the car features black bucket seats, a console with floor shifter, and classic Hideaway headlamps. The trunk houses a correct spare tire and jack.
First delivered through Jack Wolf Pontiac of Belvidere, Illinois, this Judge is accompanied by documentation from Pontiac Historic Services, verifying its original specifications and provenance.
