1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider

1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider
Coachwork by Pininfarina

Chassis no. AR1495*10247*

• Pininfarina designed and built Spider
• Early 1290cc motor and four-speed manual gearbox
• Desirable red over black interior
• A lovely example of the first Spider

With its pretty Pininfarina-designed monocoque body, double wishbone suspension, and zippy twin cam engine, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is the quintessential Italian sports car. Sharing its 1290cc motor and four-speed manual transmission with the Giulietta Sprint Coupé and Berlina saloon, the attractive Spider joined the range in 1955 and quickly came to define la dolce vita itself. An entire generation of Italians and those who wanted to be Italian were captivated, with romantic images of scarves fluttering in the wind and dreams of driving to dinner dates on hot summer evenings permeating the world.

Wearing the typical 'dolce vita' colour scheme of red over red carpets, with a red painted metal dash and contrasting black seats, this Giulietta Spider is lovely example remaining in very good condition after a professional restoration a while ago. The chrome work and original pressed steel wheels with hubcaps are in good condition as is the black soft top, with no rips or tears and clear rear window. Showing a tidy engine bay and general presentation, we're advised by the vendor the car drives very well. This lovely Giulietta comes with a file including photos of the aforementioned restoration, a FIVA document, current Belgian registration documents and a valid controle technique.
