Seven years after the Jaguar E-Type first dropped jaws, Browns Lane followed up in October 1968 with the Series 2. While the original E-Type was still highly desirable, the Series 2 would fix some of its shortcomings and prepare the E-Type for an increasingly safety conscious world. Externally, the headlamps lost their fairings, and the rear lights were enlarged. The seats were redesigned with head restraints, the steering column was now collapsible, and several mechanical refinements ensured the Series 2 would be more usable. An enlarged front air intake improved cooling, larger brakes were fitted, and the famously finicky Moss gearbox was replaced with an all-syncromesh unit with a lower first gear ratio for improved take-off. Air-conditioning and power steering were now options. Given it an open road and the Series 2 would still top 230km/h, ensuring the E-Type remained just as desirable as the 1970s arrived.

This E-Type Series 2 fixed-head coupé is an American specification car, being completed in December 1969 for January 1970 delivery via Jaguar's East Coast distributor in New York. Wearing the striking colour of Willow Green over a beige interior, the E-Type benefits from a full restoration, and a hardback book detailing the work carried out is included. The car starts and runs but will require a service and check up prior to use. A document folder includes a Production Record Certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust, an old Florida title, and the original owner's manual. Registration in Belgium has been requested.
