1 Mercedes-Benz M117.968, modified with AMG components,
This engine was discovered in Barry Taylor's parts collection on its own not amongst his other spare engines. This engine bears recent signs of rebuild and refresh and we do not think it has been fired since its build. The block stamp is that of a M117.968 which denotes a 5.6 litre. The engine still retains its 16v heads; however, it appears as though the heads themselves have been ported and polished with intake ports having been widened consistent with the AMG-HYD-1 cams that have been fitted for better lift and duration. We have not been able to confirm the displacement of the engine at this time as we didn't want to invasively remove a head to measure bore size. The "wrinkle black" finish that has been applied to its valve covers is also consistent with period engine modifications. The motor has spun freely and should be ready for a quick recommissioning and fitment into whatever you're having built.
