This Knox was obtained by a previous owner from Canada in the early 2000s in unrestored condition and subsequently thoroughly restored. When sold at Bonhams' 'Preserving the Automobile' auction at the Simeone Foundation in October 2013 (Lot 537), the Knox had been in the same ownership for the preceding decade and had covered a good number of road miles in the USA. In 2006 it had travelled to the UK and completed the London to Brighton Run and was featured in the Regent Street Concours. The Knox was officially dated 1904 by the VCC and carries its brass dating plaque. The related certificate is on file together with other paperwork to include operating instructions, an original Knox instruction book, and copies of marque-related literature, a magazine article, Massachusetts Certificate of Title, etc, etc.
This imposing Knox should be regarded as one of the more potent, reliable and substantial American cars eligible for the London-Brighton Run. Now 120 years old, the 1904 Knox is eligible to participate in many of the most prestigious Veteran car rallies and activities worldwide.
Please note that if this vehicle is sold to a French private buyer or an EU private individual the reduced rate of Import VAT at 5.5% will be charged on the hammer price. The Import VAT will be invoiced to you by our custom broker who will also charge a clearance fee. If you buy as a Trader or Company however, the Finances Publiques will charge you directly (based on our customs broker clearance) and the French VAT Import Charges will not appear on your Bonhams invoice. Please note that if you purchase as an EU Company, you are required to pay the VAT in your registered country at the relevant rate. Import rates to other EU Countries may vary and an administration fee will be charged to prepare the necessary customs clearance. Cette Knox a été dénichée par le précédent propriétaire au Canada dans son état d'origine et il l'a par la suite entièrement restaurée. Lorsqu'elle fut vendue par Bonhams lors de la vente « Preserving the Automobile » à la fondation Simeone en octobre 2013 (lot 537), la Knox avait appartenu au même propriétaire au cours de la décennie précédente et avait couvert un bon nombre de miles sur route aux États-Unis. En 2006, elle était venue au Royaume-Uni et avait participé au London to Brighton Run et avait figuré au concours de Regent Street. La Knox est officiellement datée de 1904 par le VCC (Veteran Car Club) et porte sa plaque de datation en laiton. Le certificat afférent figure au dossier historique avec les autres papiers qui contiennent des instructions de mise en route, un livret original d'instruction Knox, ainsi que toute une littérature concernant la marque, un article de magazine, des titres de certificat du Massachusetts, etc, etc.
Cette imposante Knox doit être considérée comme l'une des plus puissante, faibles et importantes voiture américaine éligible au London-Brighton Run. Aujourd'hui âgée de 120 ans, la Knox 1904 est apte à participer à n'importe quelle des plus prestigieuses manifestations réservées aux Veterans dans le monde entier.
