'Snowdon Mobile Kennel' The King's Foundation David Snowdon and Matthew Rice

'Snowdon Mobile Kennel' The King's Foundation David Snowdon and Matthew Rice

So often corners are cut and compromises made that dilute the original idea to an everyday commercial product. By working with such a remarkable group of British craftspeople, we have arrived at the very best realisation of the design. Dogs may or may not appreciate this but enquiring and observant owners will not fail to notice this very remarkable kennel. Will o will the chihuahua notice the bark on – bark off construction or any whip-pet want to know the reason why?!
Created by people at the height of their talent, the 'Snowdon Luxury Travel Kennel' has been designed for easy transportation with any small dog. Excellence in British design and craftsmanship has been at the heart of this project. Every element of this mobile kennel has been handcrafted. It has been handwoven using English willow grown in Somerset by QEST Scholar, Eddie Glew, and hand-stitched with English Bridle leather by fellow QEST leather artisan, Mary Wing To. This beautiful kennel is perfect for a very small dog to travel in luxury and is easily transported by a large leather top handle featuring an intricate plait design.
'The Snowdon Mobile Kennel' is complimented with a life-size willow Chihuahua created by willow maker, Emma Stothard. Your pampered pooch can also sit in comfort on a pillow finished in a beautifully soft merino wool featuring a large Houndstooth pattern or an oversized Houndstooth wool cloth made by Locharron. Both fabrics have been woven in Scotland and up-cycled to ensure sustainability.
David Snowdon said 'I am so proud that our design has been realised by hand by a talented team of craftspeople who have all benefited from the incredible work of The King's Foundation, The King's Trust and QEST. It is British craftsmanship at its best.'
